FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) provides teams of 10-15 students the opportunity to build an 18" x 18" x 18" robot to compete with and against other robots to compete in a game. Centreville Robotics began as an FRC team, but decided to add FTC teams during our third year (2015-16) in order to offer more hands on opportunities for our underclassmen.
During our first FTC season, Centreville Robotics formed 3 FTC teams, and we were able to add a 4th team in our following year. In the 2017-18 season we expanded even more by adding 3 more teams, for a total of 7 FTC teams. Two of these FTC teams are part of Outreach to include students from Liberty Middle School and hosted by Centreville Robotics. FIRST Tech Challenge provides a great introduction to Robotics and engineering for many of our students and helps them to experience the cooperative and competitive environment of FIRST.
